Serial No. 3817131 - Desperately Perfect

Born in Ohio but raised in Israel, Rachel Papo found herself serving as a photographer in the Israeli Air Force at the age of 18 for two years during her mandatory military service. Papo had experienced first hand being “plucked from her home surroundings and placed in a rigorous institution where her individuality is temporarily forced aside in the name of nationalism” as she describes it in her artist's statement. The project is titled Serial No. 3817131 from the author's own military service.

In her second series, Desperately Perfect, Papo finds a commonality between the young women of the Israeli army and the girls of the renowned Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. The grace and sophistication of the young ballerinas is evident even in a still photograph.
Although living in different worlds, both the Israeli soldiers and the Russian ballerinas are faced with a predetermined vision of femininity and place. At pivotal points in their lives, each is placing a sense of nationalism above personal identity.

2011 will bring the release of the heavily anticipated Black Swan, directed by Darren Aronofski. The posters for the film have been beautifully created by London Design Studio La Boca. It all reminds me of the 20s and 30s, simple and effectiv, how I like it!

Mila by the way is as well starring in Friends with Benefits together with 'Harvard Hottie' Justin Timberland. The pendant would be the same themed movie No Strings Attached with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.

Reportently it’s all over for the private lovebirds Mila Kunis and Macaulay Culkin. So wish them another 8 years of luck!

She's known for the role as drug dealer selling marijuana to support her family in Weeds and last played in R.E.D. and is now seen together with hottie James Franco in the upcoming film Howl, which is about famed beat poet and provocateur Allen Ginsberg.

Parker about what keeps her grounded:

'... I guess kids. Kids keep you focused on important things and keep you away from concentrating on all the little things about yourself.'
