The Pierces

'Love You More' is released on 25 October 2010
The New York based sister's grew up in Alabama. While childhood they traveled frequently with their hippie parents and received home-schooling. As kids they were encouraged to explore their creative side and would perform at parties, weddings and churches. Both sisters are accomplished ballerinas.
Their life is fairly obscure, a lot of details are missing out, but the sister's love the fairy tales and mystic around and about them.
They are making music since 2000, the first three albums weren't made widely available over here and precious little was written about them. Their forth coming album has been produced by Coldplay's bass player, Guy Berryman, and also features the band's drummer, Will Champion.
I really like their music and had to order it straight away!
Pink eel pistol wrote about their sound 'It's a small grad between wild, sexy and critically.'.
I agree, these two mysterious hippie sister's mix it well!

People that impressed me in 2010

Tim Hussin

I spotet Tim Hussins work early in 2009. I admire his storytelling. His ability of showing the raw truth deeply touches me, every time. His photojournalism skills are incredible, amazing how good he is at this stage in his career.

Born and raised in Florida, he graduated from University of Florida in Gainesville 2008, where he studied journalism and environmental science. While in school he interned already at the Monroe Evening News, Desert News and the Rocky Mountain News. After graduation, he interned also at National Geographic Magazine in Washington DC.
He has been recognized and winner in various competitions, including College Photographer of the Year 2009 and a first placed award in the 2009 Hearst Photojournalism Shootout in San Francisco.

Currently he is with his brother riding recycled bicycles across the United States and meeting people. Tim wants to slow down and rediscover his country that is strong in his blood, on a journey of personal and cultural discovery that he shares with those who will lend an ear.
Sleeping in the forest, eating what the nature offers and living on the edge is just one side of their ride. More to see on their interesting website.

I hope Tim will go on for miles and miles and miles and will spread his magic energy.

Brighton Rock

'My auntie' is leaving in February for Brighton, England. The departure is soon, so I started thinking about this Brighton again. Surfing in the www, I became a very nice impression of it. And than the movie came into my mind again, Brighton Rock! A remake, but this time set in the early sixties around the time of the Mods vs Rockers riots. I have to find the movie... I am looking forward to visit Brighton. Kiss you K!

to much to handle baby

I stumbled upon Jimmy Backius cowgirl Mona Johannesson yesterday evening and fell back in love. The light, the dollish body of Mona and the scenerey make this photoshoot so perfect to me!

I know the work of Jimmy (like the name), but actually nothing about himself. I found out that he is swedish, living and working in Stockholm. And he's not bad looking, a typical nordic guy! Hah, see yourself...

I like Mr. Wallas Levi's shirt.
